MAYU

Tickets: 10

Sean Carpio assembles a group of his peers to experiment and refine their sound of free improvised music over four days of open rehearsals leading to a performance at the end of the week. Unity, tangiblity and informality will lead the direction of the ensemble. Come and see young musicians, not so young musicians and a man called Red, explore improvised music for themselves and for you in a series of open rehearsals. You can see the impact you have as a spectator, as well as witness firsthand the different internal workings of an improvised group. Interaction and dialogue between the musicians and the audience members will be helpful in understanding the process of performing, and will create a more open and exciting experience for all involved. Or, alternatively, you can come and hear the end result, music for both us and you.

Musicians

SIMON MENDONCA – VIOLIN, COLM “RED” O’SULLIVAN – FLUTES, KELAN WALSH – SAXES, SHANE LATIMER – GUITARS, SIMON JERMYN – GUITARS, JUSTIN CARROLL – RHODES, DAVID REDMOND – BASS, SEAN CARPIO – DRUMS.
