Eva Meyer-Keller as part of Dublin Dance Festival presents
Germany
35 cherries are laid out in lines of tender skin, soft flesh and sweet red juice. Their fate has been decided. They are bound for an inevitable and sticky end at the hands of German artist Eva Meyer-Keller.
Simple, frightening and funny, in her performance Death is certain, the cherries become her hapless victims. Her arsenal of weaponry; a tin of baking powder, a clothes iron, a firecracker, three darts, a roll of cling film, a cheese grater…
What can a choreographer’s sensibility bring to a performance? Darkly comical yet unnervingly brutal.
Post-Show Talk: Thursday 21 May after 7.00pm performance

“Her methodical massacre perhaps raised questions about capital punishment or our desire for the performance of gruesome deaths – either way we all have some juice on our hands.”
