CULTURE NIGHT 2012
On Friday September 21st 2012, locals and visitors across the island of Ireland will enjoy the unique experience of Culture Night, a free night of entertainment, discovery and adventure taking place in a record 34 towns, cities, counties and islands in Ireland. Museums, galleries, churches, historic houses, artists’ studios and cultural centres will open their doors late into the evening welcoming people of all ages to taste and sample their cultural delights for free on the evening.
Join us to celebrate this Culture Night. We’ll have late night opening in the gallery, bringing stories to lifewith our new exhibition Whitewashing the Moon plus lots of chats and a live broadcast with NEAR FM.
Dublin Community Media to broadcast live from Culture Night
Northside Community Media platforms Near FM & Near TV will present live coverage from Culture Night 2012. These special broadcasts will take place from the Project Arts Centre and the Community Media shopfront studio in Temple Bar.
The programmes will feature artists, musicians, actors, writers and museum and gallery curators to showcase the best of what Culture Night has to offer. As well as studio content there will be roving reporters and cameras in Temple Bar where the general public can get involved.
The Radio broadcast will go live between 4 & 8pm form the Project Arts Centre and will be available on Near FM 90.3, Dublin South FM 93.9, West Dublin Access Radio 96fm, Phoenix 92.5fm and Raidio Na Life 106.4fm. The TV broadcast will go live between 5 & 8pm and you can watch on DCTV at UPC channel 802.
